aColmeia: the hive, in Goa

aColmeia is a small group of coliving houses in Goa run for remote workers and slow travellers. The name is Portuguese for the hive, which is a nod both to Goa's Portuguese history and to how the founders describe the place: people who depend on each other while moving constantly.

What aColmeia Does

• Several houses across north Goa. Locations in Saligao, Morjim and Candolim, so you can pick between the river, the beach and the busier stretch.
• Private studio-style rooms. Individual units rather than shared dorms, with an eight night minimum stay.
• A working community, not just a building. Shared meals, events and an established group of residents, which is the part the operator puts first.
• Coworking on site. Desks in the house, so you are not dependent on Goa's cafe wifi.
• Beach and river settings. Candolim sits along the Nerul River; Morjim is on the coast in the quieter north.

Why It Makes Sense for Nomads

Goa is one of the cheapest places on earth to spend a productive winter, and it has an established remote-work population that arrives around November and leaves before the monsoon. The difficulty has always been finding somewhere with reliable internet and people to talk to, since most of the housing market is short-let tourist villas.
