ANJE: Portugal's national network for young entrepreneurs

ANJE, the Associacao Nacional de Jovens Empresarios, represents young Portuguese business owners. It is a private association with public-utility status, which in practice means it speaks for its members institutionally and runs the training, incubation and advice programmes they use to get a company off the ground.

What ANJE Does

  • Institutional representation. It represents young entrepreneurs with Portuguese government bodies and industry groups.
  • Incubation network. A national network of incubators and ANJE-run spaces where early-stage companies can base themselves.
  • Training. Financed and non-financed courses, modular certified training and a leadership academy, run region by region across the north, centre, Lisbon area, Alentejo and the Algarve.
  • Loja do Empreendedor. A walk-in service point for people working through the paperwork of starting a business in Portugal.
  • Venues and events. Its Porto building hosts conferences and community events, including The Nomad World Porto 2026.

Why It Makes Sense for Nomads

Most of what ANJE offers is aimed at Portuguese nationals building companies at home, so it is not a nomad service the way a visa consultancy or a coliving is. It becomes relevant at the point you stop moving and incorporate in Portugal, which is a common end point for people who arrive on a D8 and stay. The incubation network, the training and the Loja do Empreendedor are all open to young founders operating locally.

It is also worth knowing as a venue. If you are in Porto for a founder or nomad event, there is a fair chance it is happening in an ANJE space.

Practical notes

The website is Portuguese only, with no English version. Membership terms and programme eligibility are published per programme and change between them, so check the specific one you care about rather than assuming.

Useful if Portugal is where you plan to incorporate, rather than where you are spending the next three weeks.
