Cactus Coliving runs three houses in the Canary Islands, two in Tenerife at Adeje and Valle San Lorenzo and one in San Sebastian de La Gomera. Shared rooms start around 686 euros a month and private rooms from roughly 874, with 30 to 35 percent discounts on longer stays. A Cactus Pass lets one booking cover more than one house.

Cactus Coliving: three houses across two Canary Islands

Cactus runs coliving houses in the Canaries: two on Tenerife, in Adeje and in Valle San Lorenzo near Arona, and one on La Gomera, the small island an hour away by ferry. The Adeje house is a renovated traditional Canarian home, and the group is built around cooking together and family-style dinners.

What Cactus Does

  • Three houses, two islands. Coastal Adeje, rural Valle San Lorenzo in the hills, and San Sebastian on La Gomera.
  • A Cactus Pass covering more than one house. So a longer stay can move between locations instead of committing to one.
  • Shared and private rooms. From around 686 a month shared to roughly 874 and up private, with 30 to 35 percent off for two months or more.
  • Fast internet. The operator reports 843 Mbps down at one location, which is well beyond what most island colivings manage.
  • Nature and local culture as the programme. Hiking, coastal trails and Canarian food rather than a packed event calendar.

Why It Makes Sense for Nomads

The Canaries are the practical European winter, and Cactus covers two very different versions of them. Tenerife gives you infrastructure, an international airport and a large existing nomad population. La Gomera gives you laurel forest, almost no tourism and one of the quietest islands in the archipelago.

Being able to move between them on one booking is the genuinely distinctive part. Most colivings sell you one house; this sells a couple of months across an archipelago, which suits the way people actually travel here.

The two month minimum on the Adeje house is worth noting, as is the fact that discounts only really kick in on longer stays, so this rewards commitment.

Pricing

Shared rooms from around 686 euros a month, private from roughly 874 up to 1,053, with 30 to 35 percent long-stay discounts. Two month minimum at some locations.

The best-structured way to spend a winter across more than one Canary Island.
