Casa15: three rooms in the Azores
Casa15 is a coliving on Sao Miguel, the main island of the Azores, twenty minutes from Ponta Delgada and the airport. With three private rooms it is one of the smallest colivings you will find, and the operator is explicit that it is not a typical community space: you are expected to go and explore rather than be programmed.
What Casa15 Does
- Three private rooms with ocean or garden views. Small, quiet and closer to a shared house than a business.
- An inclusive monthly rate. Around 950 euros covering utilities, wifi and weekly cleaning.
- Coworking and shared living areas. Plus laundry and a shared kitchen.
- Twenty minutes from the airport. Which on an Atlantic island is a genuine convenience.
- A self-directed approach. The hosts point you at trails, natural pools and local spots rather than running an events calendar.
Why It Makes Sense for Nomads
The Azores are the most dramatic landscape in Europe that almost nobody works from. Sao Miguel has crater lakes, hot springs, whale watching and hiking that would be world famous if it were easier to reach, and it sits four hours from Lisbon and five from Boston.
The self-directed framing is honest and worth taking seriously. This is a place to go if you want a quiet month with extraordinary weekends, not if you want to meet forty other nomads.
Two things to plan for. Azorean weather changes constantly and you will get rain in any month, and a car is essential to see the island. Neither is a surprise once you are there, but both catch people out.
Pricing
From around 950 euros a month for a private room, including utilities, wifi and weekly cleaning.
The right pick if the landscape is the point and the community is optional.
