CoZi: coworking, coliving and an incubator on Djerba

CoZi operates several spaces on Djerba, the island off Tunisia's south coast: a coworking space in Houmt Souk, a coliving house in Mezraia, and a further venue at Dar Faiza. Alongside desks and rooms it runs a business incubator and company domiciliation, which makes it as much a local enterprise hub as a nomad stop.

What CoZi Does

  • Coworking with dedicated quiet zones. Aimed at focused work as well as collaboration.
  • Coliving with a range of budgets. Private apartments alongside a mixed eight bed dorm with an en-suite bathroom.
  • A business incubator. Support for startups, which brings a local founder community through the space.
  • Domiciliation services. A registered business address in Tunisia, useful if you are setting something up locally.
  • Nightly rates from around 37 dollars. With monthly rates quoted on request.

Why It Makes Sense for Nomads

Djerba is an unusual choice and a compelling one. It is a warm, flat Mediterranean island with beaches, one of the oldest Jewish communities in North Africa, and a distinctive architecture of whitewashed courtyard houses. Tunisia is cheap, visa-free for many nationalities, and roughly two hours from southern Europe.

The incubator and domiciliation side is what distinguishes CoZi from a beach coliving. If you want to be around people building businesses in North Africa rather than passing through, this is the network.

Note that Djerba is seasonal in feel, with summer busy and winter mild and very quiet, and that the island is small, so a scooter or car helps.

Pricing

From around 37 dollars a night for accommodation, with monthly coliving rates and coworking memberships quoted on request.

Tunisia's most established remote-work hub, with a startup scene attached.
