Draper Startup House: founder houses on four continents

Draper Startup House is a chain of coliving and coworking houses built around entrepreneurship, carrying the name of the Silicon Valley investor family. Locations include San Telmo in Buenos Aires, Hyderabad, Manhattan and Vina del Mar in Chile, with the format adapted to each city.

What Draper Startup House Does

  • Entrepreneur-focused programming. Events, networking and accelerator-style activity aimed at founders and investors rather than travellers.
  • Hostel-style accommodation. Dorm beds alongside private en-suite and shared-bathroom rooms, which keeps entry prices low.
  • A global network. Staying at one house connects you to the others, which is the main argument for a chain.
  • Locations in cities with real startup scenes. Hyderabad and New York in particular are working tech markets rather than nomad resorts.
  • Social infrastructure. The Buenos Aires house runs a rooftop terrace, ping pong, screenings, barbecues and Spanish classes.

Why It Makes Sense for Nomads

Most colivings gather remote employees and freelancers. This one gathers people trying to build companies, which changes the conversations considerably. If you are raising, hiring or looking for a co-founder, a house full of founders is worth more than a house with a better pool.

Hyderabad at around 13 dollars a night for a dorm bed is extraordinary value and sits inside one of India's biggest tech hubs. Buenos Aires and Vina del Mar are strong Latin American bases.

Two caveats. Pricing is mostly unpublished outside the OTA listings, so expect to ask. And the hostel format means dorms are real dorms; if you need quiet for calls, book a private room specifically.

Pricing

Dorm beds from around 13 US dollars a night in Hyderabad. Most locations do not publish monthly rates and quote on request.

The network is the product; the room is just where you sleep.
