Outschool

Outschool

Categories

Outschool is a marketplace of live online classes for children aged 3 to 18, taught by independent teachers across a very wide range of subjects. Classes are booked and paid for individually rather than by term, from one-off sessions to ongoing courses. That structure makes it a practical way to fill gaps around whatever your main schooling arrangement is, without committing to another enrolment.

Outschool: buy the class, not the whole school year

What Outschool Does

  • Live online classes: taught in real time by independent educators, with a very large catalogue spanning academic subjects, languages, coding, arts and niche interests.
  • Ages 3 to 18: covering everything from early-years enrichment to exam-adjacent subject support.
  • Booked individually: one-off sessions, short series or ongoing courses, paid per class rather than per term.
  • Small group formats: most classes run with a handful of learners, so it is closer to a seminar than a lecture.

Why It Makes Sense for Nomads

Outschool is not a school and does not pretend to be one, and that is the point. It has no accreditation, no enrolment and no expectation that you stay. For a travelling family that is a feature: you can buy six weeks of Spanish while you are in Mexico, add a marine biology series before a coastal stint, or hand a bored teenager a game design course, and none of it ties you to a calendar.

It is particularly useful alongside a self-paced provider. Self-paced schooling is flexible but socially thin, and a couple of live small-group classes a week restores some of the peer contact without reintroducing a full timetable.

It also covers the subjects a nomad setup tends to lose first. Music, art, drama and specialist sciences are the things that quietly disappear when a family leaves a conventional school, and they are exactly what this catalogue is deep in.

Pricing

Each class is priced by the teacher who runs it, so costs vary enormously between a one-off session and a term-long course. You pay per class, which means no ongoing commitment when your plans change.

The supplement, not the substitute, and the easiest way to plug the gaps a nomad schooling setup leaves.
