Why It Makes Sense for Nomads

Every other resource in this category answers where the children will learn and who they will play with. This one answers what it costs them, and that question comes due years later.

The research on Third Culture Kids is consistent and not especially comfortable: a mobile childhood produces real advantages in adaptability and perspective, and also a pattern of unprocessed grief from repeated goodbyes that tends to surface in adolescence or early adulthood. The evidence also suggests the outcome is not fixed. Families who name the losses and process transitions deliberately do markedly better than families who assume resilience is automatic.

That is what this organisation exists to teach, and the free resilience kit is a low-cost way to find out whether it applies to you. The framing is built around military, diplomatic and missionary families, which is where the research base comes from, but the mechanism is identical for nomad children.
