Travel Massive

Categories

Travel Massive is a free global network for people who work in travel and tourism: tour operators, hosts, travel tech founders, destination marketers and creators. It runs member-led city chapters alongside online events, discussion forums, a jobs board and a company directory. Started as a Sydney meetup in 2010, it has since hosted more than 2,500 events for over 90,000 attendees.

Travel Massive: The Global Network for People Who Work in Travel

Travel Massive began as a meetup on the rooftop of a Sydney hostel in 2010 and grew into a worldwide professional network for the travel industry: tour operators, hotels and hosts, travel tech founders, destination marketers, writers and creators. Joining is free, and most of what happens is run by members rather than by a head office.

What Travel Massive Does

  • City chapters — local groups run by volunteer members. The site lists 95 active chapters today, having run in more than 150 cities across over 50 countries, from London and Berlin to Bangkok, Saigon and Cape Town.
  • Events — in-person meetups plus online sessions and conferences, with more than 2,500 past events and over 90,000 attendees on the record.
  • Discussion forums — an ongoing member feed for questions, launches and industry news, with around 11,000 comments to date.
  • Directories — a company directory of roughly 1,300 travel businesses, plus a featured-creators list of travel content makers.
  • Jobs and a marketplace — roles and services posted by member companies.
  • Free reports — periodic industry research published for members.

Why It Makes Sense for Nomads

Plenty of nomads do not just travel, they work in travel: running tours, managing a coliving, building a booking tool, writing about destinations. Those people need the industry, not the lifestyle community, and that is a different room. Travel Massive is that room, and because it is organised by city chapter it is one of the few professional networks that actually rewards moving around. Landing somewhere with an active chapter means a real meetup with people in your line of work instead of another coworking hot desk.

It is equally useful in the other direction, for anyone selling into travel. The member directory and the forums are where operators, suppliers and travel press already are, which makes cold outreach much less cold.

Pricing

Joining is free and covers chapters, events, forums and the directories. A paid Premium Membership adds a company profile, free job listings and premium search, and is aimed at businesses rather than individual members.

The professional side of travel, organised by city, and free to walk into.
