Treballu is a rural creative project rooted in Laconi, in the interior of Sardinia. It started with a small house in the village centre and over five years became a set of projects: shared spaces, events, European funding programmes and distributed coliving for people who want to stay.
Interior Sardinia is one of the emptiest and least touristed parts of Italy, a world away from the Costa Smeralda. Laconi sits in the Sarcidano, with the Giara plateau and its wild horses nearby, and it is one of the island's designated most beautiful villages.
The distributed model, with rooms spread through the village rather than in one house, is unusual and pushes you into the community rather than a compound.
