Why It Makes Sense for Nomads

Permanent worldschooling hubs ask for a semester and a substantial cheque. A pop-up asks for a week. That difference matters enormously if you are not yet sure the lifestyle works for your family, or if your route already passes through the city and you just want your children to spend seven days with other travelling kids.

It also fixes the specific loneliness of nomad parenting. Adults can find a coworking space anywhere; children cannot walk into a new country and produce friends. A pop-up manufactures a peer group on a schedule you can plan a route around.

The Carlsons have been travelling with their own children since 2004 and started running pop-ups in 2021, so the format has been refined by people living it rather than designed by a tourism operator.
